The DEA issued an immediately-in-effect final rule that will expand access to medications for the treatment of opioid use disorder (OUD) by allowing a practitioner not registered with the agency to dispense not more than a three-day supply of narcotic drugs rather than a one-day supply to initiate maintenance or detoxification treatment (88 Fed.
