A Baxley, Ga.-based pharmacist was sentenced on June 26 to 48 months in prison after pleading guilty to a federal charge of conspiring to commit health care fraud and to illegally distribute opioids outside the scope of professional practice and not for a legitimate medical purpose (United States v.
