Pharmacy To Pay $250,000 Penalty for Alleged Recordkeeping Violations Linked to Employee Diversion

A Chicago pharmacy and its owner will pay a civil penalty of $250,000 to resolve allegations that they violated the recordkeeping requirements of the Controlled Substances Act (CSA). The government said that the alleged violations “enabled the diversion of opioids from the pharmacy over an extended period.”
