To Tighten Controls, DEA Moves Hydrocodone Combination Products to Schedule II

The Drug Enforcement Administration announced Aug. 21 that hydrocodone combination products will be moved from Schedule III to the more restrictive Schedule II. HCPs are drugs that contain both hydrocodone, which by itself is a Schedule II drug, and specified amounts of other substances, such as acetaminophen or aspirin.
